May 30, 2023 - The wine showed an evolving tertiary quality but without the diminution of fruit over a hour. Still vibrant red current, hibiscus tea, sour cherry, with a forest floor, mushroom broth, and ferrous undertone. Impeccable and lingering finish.

February 21, 2020 - Wine in the Sunshine State; 2/20/2020-2/23/2020 (Florida): In a pretty amazing line-up of wines and this got a bit overshadowed I think. Or at least I don't remember it as clearly as some of the others. All wines this night were good though and I liked it.

October 12, 2019 - Italian Dinner Chez David (David's Place, Mpls): Medium red, ultra murky with heavy sediment. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. Ooh yeah, these are delightfully complex, dank basement on the nose followed by blood meal, cherry, dried spice, and crushed flowers. The palate has a lot of tart cherry and red currant, iron and forest floor. Medium bodied with round pretty tannins, long and beguiling. This is one to seek out.

August 3, 2018 - Needed a decant to come together (approx 3hrs) a lighter more graceful pepe. Very old Barolo like. This was a library release with a 2014 cork.

February 12, 2018 - Emidio Pepe wines with Chiara De Iulis Pepe: A pronounced acidity attacks on entry, red fruit and barberry flavours, light to medium bodied. Aromatically and on the palate this is reminiscent to a Barolo with 30-40 years of age. Lighter, but very enjoyable.
