August 21, 2023 - Pop and pour. Stood upright for 7 or 8 hrs beforehand. Dark color: likely recorked at some point. On the nose:.olive, cigarbox, dried herbs. Ok acidity, denser than expected. Ok, but underwhelming.

November 15, 2009 - A lot of tertiary aromas on the nose : spices, game, cigarbox, cedar and leather. In the mouth, the wine is still very fresh and concentrated, but cigarbox and leathery character tends to overwhelm the fruit. Very nice to drink though.

November 3, 2009 - Ch. Clos du Mont-Olivet, Chateauneuf-du-Pape Dinner (The Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong): Still youngish colour that is very bright and attractive. The first "gosh" nose of the night with a touch of freshly-strawed stable yards, white mushrooms and some leather. A light palate of dusty attic rooms with leather trunks in them. High acidity but not too much. Lovely back end on the palate of old cigar box and actual cigar leaf. Moderate length with some in resonance in the head on the finish. Very elegant.

April 25, 2008 - nose of mushrooms and cherries... I didn't spend much time on this wine as the Beaucastels were much more attractive...

September 29, 2007 - Remmington Norman Offline in aid of Pebbles Project (Le Colombier, London): Full garnet, browning at rim. Sweet, slightly figgy. Good acidity. slight spritz. Good but on the way down.
