March 8, 2024 - Oh my this is delicious. Red, browning. Mature. Dark nose, raisin, leather, dried herbs. Depth to the palate, fat, rocks, dead leaves. Has depth. Complete. Resolved tannins after plenty of air. I underestimated this wine previously. It is consummate. Drinking perfectly, or hold if you like it a bit more decrepit but it offers a great deal right now.

    March 8, 2024 - Corked…badly

October 1, 2023 - Visibly "younger" than the 2013 - less orange/brown. Smoky, tarry, brilliantly precise - just so impeccably concentrated. Coiled and tense. Full of future power. No question of this wine's immense potential. Succulent, savoury, salty - but sweet. Super.

December 23, 2022 - This needed a lot more time than last year to show basic drinkability. First half was left to breathe for six hours but remained rather elusive, with aggressive tannins, and somehow too cold and warm at the same time. Second half from recorked half-bottle, decanted 4+ hours only showed its best in the last drops. So give a lot of time and (note to self) let it not be too cold. The wine is very good, a classic well-balanced Barolo, and will benefit with more time in the cellar.

December 7, 2022 - On day four, but tasted all days, and quite frankly going strong each day. Now, on day four just starting to show signs of that tobacco desiccation that I don't like. But on day three it still reigned supreme!
