September 11, 2014 - At £10 a bottle, there's a lot of bang for your buck in this Cabernet Sauvignon. Very dark colour, full bodied, and rich cassis flavour, with plenty of tannin (slightly grainy) and acidity that any bottles left under the stairs for a few years will come out well.
The palate has a surprising amount of complexity, with a typical 'cab sav' blackcurrant fruit, but also black pepper, a hint of cinnamon spice, and almost a brambly, woody note to it as well. Impressed.
