June 8, 2016 - Camphor and plum on the nose. On the palate, black cherry and blackberry, with some detectable oak at first that fades after an hour or so, leaving notes of leather and earth, with light, smooth tannins on the medium finish. This is ready to drink, but it should hold for some years, and it may still improve a little. Excellent value at under $20.

April 27, 2015 - Grenat intense.

September 25, 2014 - Camphor on the nose. On the palate, plum, raspberry, and blackberry, with savory herbal notes and some drying tannin on the medium finish, with moderate acidity. This is not an expensive Barbera, but it took an hour or so to open up, and it tastes like a serious wine that needs some time to settle down. It's drinkable now, but it improves with decanting, and it will probably improve further with a few years in the cellar. Very good value for the money.

May 31, 2014 - 3hr decant. Red cherry fruit, leathery, with a floral notes. Soft red fruits, some savory tobacco notes and a mineral finish. Medium plus acid. Dusty tannin. Moderate length. Rather good d'Alba, which usually aren't my cup of tea. Not too serious but a great cocktail wine.
