April 19, 2024 - Took to a Spanish wine lunch. There were 2 other 2005's there, a Pintia and a Flor de Pingus, both of which opened up more than the LdH, though the FdP was tight for a while. A good but muted showing, but since it was my bottle half of it went home and was retasted about 8 hours later, at which point it it would have been the WOTD of 6 reds. Balanced, suave, elegant. So, a decant is advisable at present. (91 @ lunch, 93-94 late night)

January 13, 2024 - This one had all that you would expect from it. Very smooth the tannins had fallen out nicely dark fruit a little bit of smoke and tobacco.

September 4, 2023 - From 75cl, good cork, decanted 1 hour. So much better than my last bottle (TN 21.07.2018). Gradually entering early maturity. Still mainly oak on the nose, with hints of vinegar and tobacco. Hopefully more aromatic interest will come with time (by 2028?) Stingingly acidic but beautiful entry, with bright damson fruit, growing darker on the mid-palate. Mouthwatering, moreish, slightly furry-tannic finish. Great match with truffled cepes risotto. Keep, or give a much longer decant than I did. 91P

August 30, 2023 - Absolutely singing right now. May or may not be at peak, could wait a few more years but no need to.

March 29, 2023 - Tobacco, aceto balsamico, dark chocolate, cherry, plum, strawberry, and orange. On the palate, there is an earthiness to it that complements the (very) mature fruit component. Pristine acidity and tannins that remind me of suede. Even so, the texture as a whole is more like silk. Very complex and highly individual. Oldschool for sure, and probably not to everybody 's taste, but it has something to offer that is certainly not standard. Drinks well now, will be good for another 20 years at least, maybe even 30.
