March 26, 2023 - Stunning juice ! My second bottle and again an absolute knock-out Clos St.Jacques from Fourrier. The nose is heavenly, pure dark cherry, raspberry, blood orange, rose petal, sweet spices, subtle minerality .... Tremendous depth and purity.Very sappy and rich, with lot of energy and very fine grained tannins, with such incredible smooth mouthfeel. This is a showstopper of a wine.

March 11, 2022 - I'm not necessarily in the Fourrier camp of extreme ripeness but I must say that this was a delicious bottle of Burgundy. Very ripe exotic cherry fruit is balanced by succulent acidity and lots of brightness. The finish is juicy and intense with notes of cherry spice and sparkling minerals. I see no purpose in aging this further as it's showing its undergarments completely and unabashedly. At Zachys BYOB La Paulee.

February 15, 2022 - Good on the nose. More giving than the Goulots but fairly shy. Didn’t open much in the glass. Will be good but give it at least a decade.

February 6, 2022 - Slightly more subdued aromatics compared to the 2011, but recognisable as the same wine. Tighter and more structured on the palate. Red fruits on the palate. Darker fruits compared to the brightness of the 2011. Shows a slightly saline character.

January 3, 2022 - From a 0.89ha plot planted in 1910. This 2012 Fourrier Clos Saint Jacques is one of the best Fourrier CSJ I have had. Attractive bouquet of Incredibly perfumed and silky. Ultra-ethereal with a flirtatious bouquet of polished red cherries, raspberries, rose petals and sweet earthy spices. High intensity yet tannins are silky soft, gorgeous. Tasted blind and guessed Rousseau Clos Saint Jacques 2009. (95/100)

July 14, 2021 - Bastille Day Celebration with Lots of Champagne Rosé (Park Ridge Country Club): Small glass, brief note. Lush and extremely generous, this has a broad array of black and red cherry throughout with a meaty, spicy support team. Everything is well balanced now, this will easily drink well for another decade+ as it further evolves.

February 10, 2019 - Special wine. Light clear ruby, slow opening aromas of clove, allspice, cherry, baking powder, lead to a firm perfectly balanced long mouthful of flavors. Young.

October 13, 2018 - Some wines are just oh so delicious and this is one. Why is this so good already? Not sure but not complaining. Nice red fruit with the start of oven roasted beef flavors with a side of au jus. Need to find more...

April 21, 2017 - Another wine I wish I had more time with; so elegant and fine-boned while not sacrificing its Gevrey personality - a bit dark, a touch of brash spice. Glides across the palate. Absolutely love the style. Still young (though undeniably attractive), it will be fun to watch this age.

February 10, 2017 - Great young wine. Decanted two hours, followed over the next three. Interesting, but not great on the nose. Some dark fruit, herbs, spice. Fascinating palate. Spice, a bit of tar, loam notes, herbs and savory/mineral notes combined with good dark fruit and outstanding balance. `Unusual to have such a varied palate with the nose lagging just a bit. Very clean on a long finish. Outstanding wine, love to revisit in ten years, wish I had more.
