Rosé - Sparkling
2003 Dom Pérignon Champagne Rosé France, Champagne

Small glass, brief note. Ripe and powerful, slightly less complex vs the best vintages tasted tonight. From a "Luminous" bottle.
Rosé - Sparkling
2005 Dom Pérignon Champagne Rosé France, Champagne
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Very fleshy and also ripe with berry and cherry on nose and palate. Bright textures, particularly on finish. Slightly less concentration vs the better vintages tonight.
Rosé - Sparkling
1995 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Rosé France, Champagne
94 points
Small glass from magnum, brief note. Rich red berries on nose and palate with some apple notes in the middle, some lemon on finish. Very complex, still wonderfully fresh. A highlight tonight.

Rosé - Sparkling
1996 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon Rosé France, Champagne
91 points
Small glass, brief note. Still dense and concentrated, but more mature than any previous bottle, ending with a slightly bitter note. Not quite the level of fruit I've come to experience from this wine.
Rosé - Sparkling
1996 Dom Pérignon Champagne Rosé P2 France, Champagne
94 points
Small glass, brief note. My favorite of the six Dom Pérignon Rosés tasted tonight. Lots of red berry throughout with some poached pear notes contributing to an even greater amount of richness. Very fresh with bright textures, and very good length.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Krug Champagne Brut Rosé Edition 18eme France, Champagne
91 points
Small glass, brief note. 2005 base. Very rich, showing mature fresh and macerated berry character. Still big and robust, but getting mature.
Rosé - Sparkling
N.V. Krug Champagne Brut Rosé Edition 23eme France, Champagne
93 points
Small glass, brief note. Plenty of red berry, red apple. Very bright and energetic from beginning to end, culminating in a long, well textured and exciting finish.

Rosé - Sparkling
1996 Ruinart Champagne Dom Ruinart Brut Rosé France, Champagne
93 points
Lots of orchard fruit with an abundance of energy. Faint red cherry hints come through on long, finessed finish.
Rosé - Sparkling
2007 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon France, Champagne
93 points
Small glass, brief note. One of my favorites of the tasting. Pinot-centric aromas of berry with floral support, then equally Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on palate. Very bright textures, with super long, texturally elegant finish.

Rosé - Sparkling
2004 Laurent-Perrier Champagne Grande Cuvée Rosé Alexandra France, Champagne
93 points
Small glass, brief note. Very Pinot Noir centric from top to bottom, with red berry and cherry everywhere and impressive depth of flavors and density. Good enough length, this is at a great place right now.
Rosé - Sparkling
2004 Bollinger Champagne La Grande Année Rosé France, Champagne
flawed
An off, flat bottle.

Flight 2 - Not Champagne Rosé (17 notes)

White
2010 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
94 points
From magnum. Rich start with lots of ripe apple with spice and floral support. Not the most powerful vintage for this wine, but near perfect harmony and grace, with a finish that just lingers, lingers, and then lingers some more.

2009 Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
Small glass, brief note. Ripe red cherry everywhere with subtle spice. Good balance, good length. Medium weight. 92 points tonight. I expected more, but like many 2009s, this is showing its voluptuous side clearly now but the complexity is still in the future.
Red
2014 Domaine Dujac Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru
93 points
Small glass, brief note. Perfumed start, showcasing a broad array of red fruit aromas and flavors with spice aplenty. Good weight, better length, this is wonderfully finessed already, a rare feat for Malconsorts.

1993 Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
93 points
Old School style with meaty, woodsy aromas and flavors. Still powerful with lots going on, this has a rustic, big, expanding finish that I particularly enjoyed.

2006 Louis Jadot Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
92 points
Fleshy start with ripe black cherry and plum, finishing with some braised meat and mushroom. Very good concentration. Still slightly backward on finish. Good now, but better to cellar longer.
Red
2016 Gérard Raphet Charmes-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
91 points
Small glass, brief note. Fresh black fruit with roasted meat, with a perfect Gevrey character, finishing with spice hints. Ripe and fun, just barely showing Grand Cru density to me.

An off bottle, seemed slightly heat damaged.
Red
2002 Louis Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Domaine Louis Jadot France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
92 points
Small glass, brief note. Another very good performance for this wine. Wonderfully evolved, nicely mature with complex, layered, earthy, umami flavors. Sneaky good length. Very good now through the next decade.

2010 Domaine Bruno Clair Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
93 points
Small glass, brief note. Like so many 2010, this is no powerful, but a masterpiece of elegance and balance. Almost seems simple to start, this gets bigger, bolder and denser within seconds. So long with roasted meat coming through with bolder, blacker fruit on its long finish. Just barely entering its drinking window, 93-94 point potential.

2013 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combe aux Moines Vieille Vigne France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Small glass, brief note. Black and red cherry with good+ concentration, but less finesse than typical for this cuvee. Base don my previous bottle a year ago, this took hours to open and unfurl its full potential, so I remain optimistic there is further upside. But still a good 90 points tonight.
Red
2012 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos St. Jacques Vieille Vigne France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
94 points
Small glass, brief note. Lush and extremely generous, this has a broad array of black and red cherry throughout with a meaty, spicy support team. Everything is well balanced now, this will easily drink well for another decade+ as it further evolves.
Red
2008 Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux St. Jacques France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Slightly more black vs red cherry here with faint spice and meat notes. Good length, just not quite as forthcoming yet as I would expect, showing a fairly firm middle and finish. Probably needs more time.
Red
2007 Serafin Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Fonteny France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
90 points
Small glass, brief note. Meaty with plenty of black fruit that is maturing gracefully. Tannins still a bit assertive, giving it a slightly off center finish, but overall good+, possibly further upside?
White - Sweet/Dessert
2015 Château Rieussec France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
Late night, small glass, brief note. Completely dominating for now by its ripeness and sweetness, this is barely hinting at the complexity yet to emerge. But very dense with a long finish, so I am very optimistic, 2030 forward.

2011 Jean Luc et Paul Aegerter Gevrey-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin
85 points
Late night, small glass, brief note. Good depth for its level, but a faint bitter note too common in some 2011s.
Red
2016 Domaine Pierre Gelin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
88 points
Late night, small glass, brief note. Good fruit concentration, as well as overall weight and length. More firm than many 2016s, making it slightly awkward, but still good.
