January 17, 2018 - Dinner at Margeaux Brasserie (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Fairly advanced darker colour, which had me thinking a variety with botrytis, but there was no botrytis to be found here. The nose and palate were moderately floral, but I went more to pinot gris than viognier, and ended up guessing an early 2000s Alsatian pinot gris. The waxiness here is why I don't love the wine, although there is a really nice stone fruit profile here.
