April 15, 2017 - This is a lovely boal. Thick and tangy raspberry with baking spices, nutty oxidation, and caramel overtones.

5/30. I drank this on multiple occasions over two months. It is a favorite. I would add black tea to my tasting notes.

November 13, 2016 - La Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Dinner (Salt & Char Restaurant, Saratoga Springs, NY): [Pop & pour.] Smoky caramelized nose. Stunningly complex, but there's enough oxidation there that it is hard not to be reminded of good wines gone bad. Oxidized prune juice. Oddly appealing, but hard for me to love.

August 16, 2016 - Color is dirt brown. Clearly older and oxidized. Intensely sweet. Over the top for me (in terms of residual sugar). Classic Madeira profile of plums, figs, raisins, etc.

November 28, 2015 - Delicious bottle of Madeira. The nose is lovely with cocoa, burnt caramel, toasted walnut, vanilla, baked peach. The palate is delicious with beautiful balance, satin mouth feel, lovely acidity to keep it lively, and a nice amount of sweetness that pairs lovely with Thanksgiving desserts.
