August 11, 2015 - This is a basic but hugely popular Cab, and understandably so given its excessive sweetness, ripe dark fruit (cassis, blackberry, blueberry), and supporting notes of vanilla, black pepper, and baking spice. But this easy and broad appeal, presumably to many, comes with a lack of structure (it's like drinking sweet/rich alcoholic fruit juice -- and, yes, it comes across as quite hot) and, obviously, a lack of anything even resembling sophistication. That's too much to ask for in a wine of this caliber, perhaps, a wine destined for the global market, and it's okay, just okay, for what it is, but it's way too simple, and far too confected (seemingly rather fake), for its own good.

May 5, 2015 - The wine is clear and bright with a medium ruby colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (ripe black currants, ripe blackberries), herbaceous (green bell pepper) and pungent spices (black pepper, liquorice).

The wine is off-dry in the mouth with a medium(-) acidity. It has medium supple tannins and a medium(+) alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of black fruit (ripe black currants, ripe blackberries), herbaceous (green bell pepper) and pungent spices (black pepper, liquorice). The finish is medium(+).

It is a good quality wine. It has very concentrated flavours and a persistent finish. However it lacks acidity to balance the alcohol and the fruit concentration, coming out rather flat and heavy. It could be more complex too.

Drink now, the wine will lose its fruit soon and become absolutely flat without developing any interesting flavours.

January 22, 2014 - Almost a 'very good' wine, just falling short of my grace because of the slightly exaggerated sweetness. A tad jammy, but not OTT. Pjaines would nevertheless have kicked and punched me, had I served this to him :-)
Full bodied with M tannins and both teeth and lip staining. Quite delicious.
    Only btl.
    Not for keeping.

December 28, 2013 - Hints of chocolate and vanilla aroma and taste. Very syrupy, sweet. No body or structure. Could not finish the bottle; received as a gift. Would not purchase.
