March 3, 2024 - March 2024 Gouges/Chevillon Dinner (YH Beijing - SF): This was popped and poured at the dinner, and it was initially quite closed on the nose and the palate. But, texturally, it was very elegant with a weightless presence on the palate. It took about an hour or two for it to open up, showcasing some dark fruit and meatiness on the palate and a spicy finish. Lovely, but could have benefited from a longer decant.

March 3, 2024 - Quite tight on the nose with red fruit, cherry, a darker fruit undertone, and a bit of spices. Good acidity with tart cherries and a bit of underwood on the palate. Good finish. This feels quite backwards and closed at the moment. I enjoyed the nose quite a bit but the palate isn't showing much right now. 92+

March 3, 2024 - The stylistic change is very evident in the 12, even more so than the '09. This bottle was popped and poured, so a bit tight and closed on the palate to start. Lovely nose from first pour though - on the meatier and more masculine side. A deceptive amount of structure is coated in very refined tannins, high-toned acid and tension. The fruit starts to emerge after a couple hours, crunchy chalky red fruit, dried flowers and herbs, and a bit of iron / meatiness.

September 30, 2022 - Dark red with amber cast. Cherry, leather nose. Bright acid, tannin is strong and a little raw at this tasting. The fruit is lighter red than the Les St. Georges, and the whole package is a little less ripe. Good and promising.

August 27, 2022 - Very delightful nose with earth, iodine, iron, raw meat and several herbal notes. Very complex. On the palate a tight structure and not much fruit, but yet very pleasant. Good balance of acidity and a nice long finish. Love this wine. On the second day still fully alive and slightly more fruitiness on the palate but shorter in the finish. This is great stuff. This is the NSG style I love. 93-94P
