July 31, 2023 - Feeling like this one has peaked. Either that or I got a bad bottle. Pretty flat and underwhelming. Have one bottle left. Hope that one redeems this one.

May 20, 2023 - Sangiovese study, Volume II (Chicago, IL): "Pop and pour, motherfuckers." Yeah, I forgot to open this at the beginning of the dinner (which would have given this about 3-4 hours of air by the time we got to it), but then we tried to pour out of the bottle but of course the cork was still in. Very ripe and large-scaled right out of the gate, but surprisingly accessible probably because we got it before air caused the tannins to clamp down. Like the other Salvioni wines, clearly very large-scaled and structured, but the plentiful fruit makes this far more accessible.

    May 21, 2022 - 2 Hour Decant

Extremely tight still, with notes of dark black fruit, tea, and forest poking through. The palate was fairly raw still, but can likely improve from here if the tannins resolve. A huge tight punch without much elegance.

April 6, 2022 - Pale red colour. Cherry, tobacco, leather and earthy notes. Medium length.

November 15, 2020 - 2 hr decant, nose was fairly reticent and not showing a whole lot. Throughout the night the nose was fairly subtle but did show some light plum and dried herbs. Where this wine really stood out was the palate. Had plum, pomegranate, subtle sour cherry, underbrush, good acid, mild tannin, fair complexity. Although fairly young in terms of brunello this showed more advanced than the 2010 Argiano next to it. For me this is ready to go with a quick decant, do not see it gaining much with more age. 92-93
