February 28, 2024 - Acker "Paulee" Burgundy Dinner (Capital Seafood - Beverly Hills CA): Paulée style dinner. So rich and powerful with hedonistic black fruit that effortlessly retains its balance all the way through to its long, long finish. Wow.

February 17, 2023 - More elegant style than straight bottling but foundation of char and dark fruit remains. (2797/2910)

June 23, 2018 - Had it again and thought it was fantastic, 98+. Tremendous aromas of dark fruit and menthol/spearmint, similar flavors, great concentration and poise. The earthy, chocolate elements from prior tastings took a backseat this time. happy to see how it evolves and integrates as it mellows...which may take 10+ years

February 6, 2017 - I was fortunate to have a good friend share this with me on a special occasion - i've never tasted a wine with such ripeness, complexity and persistence, and as some have suggested it doesn't come off heavy.

The 2003 Cuvee Cathelin had a smorgasbord of flavors and aromas that were constantly changing and emerging with a base line of plum/raisin, truffles, tar, sous bois, and clove. And then these powerful flavors occasionally gave way to a brigher side with raspberry and game. It is very impressive and in a sense overwhelming to taste, and still very primary so I think will have a very long life ahead. I hope I'm lucky enough to taste it again

    October 14, 2016 - Remarkable wine.

Still very youthful, the aromatics are so fragrant and profound you can smell it without going near the glass. The entry is sweet and powerful, full bodied with tremendous layers and length, and a finish that fans out in the proverbial peacock's tail. The best aspect is the weightlessness. It seems contradictory for a wine with such power and ripeness...for me it's what elevates the wine.

Bouquet and mouth are similar: black fruits, raspberry, rum cake, tar, earth and menthol. It is definitely a wine for lovers of masculine style

I'm not going to judge the price...it's the same consideration for anyone looking to buy Romanee Conti, La Tache, Petrus, Le Pin, etc. this is a singular wine
