March 3, 2022 - Opaque garnet, still looking quite youthful at 20yo. Vigorous aromatics with notes of mint, redcurrant and blackcurrants; medium-plus bodied, mouthfilling cassis fruit on the midpalate, some leather and black olive notes to finish, tannins now mostly resolved, with just a wisp of grip remaining.
From a bottle with perfect fill level and professionally stored since release, this was a deadset classic and very pleasing, especially given the humble price.1 person found this helpful Comment -

August 7, 2020 - Still lots of life in this. Lovely aged wine. Colour showing no sign of brown. Nose and taste of a well aged Coonawarra Cabernet. Won't get any better. Drink now.
Last one of a dozen. Wish I had more.
Note: Bought on release and cellared in temperature control all this time.2 people found this helpful Comment -

August 24, 2019 - Wynn's Black Label vertical (Frank's place in Matraville): Blood, slight BBQ, savoury spice, biscuit, meatloaf, band aid, sour red fruit, farmyard, cow shit. Juicy, earthy, baked sour red fruit, a touch of farmyard funk here, silky tannins. Nice.

May 4, 2019 - No formal notes- from a wine dinner. Lovely cool Cabernet, Black currant, austere restraint. Good structure. This should continue to unfold for at least another 10 years cork permitting.
