June 3, 2023 - Probably waited too long - this is our last of 4 bottles. Great QPR. It took a good hour or so to open. Medium bodied and slightly acidic but there are some interesting spice notes on the finish. If you have any, time to drink up.

April 27, 2023 - Pop and pour. Lovely aromatics. This btl showed a touch past prime on the palate: acidity somewhat attenuated and flavors less well-delineated. Wispy tannin on the finish. Given the long string of excellent bottles, it might just be this btl.

July 19, 2021 - Pop and pour. The density this has shown has just increased in the last few years. On the nose: spicy red fruit, a hint of savory licorice, lovely intensity. On the palate: lovely acidity and density. Fills the mouth with lovely red fruit, earthy spice and a touch of herbs. Attenuated tannin on the finish. Yum.

Day 3: not a sign of oxidation: rich fruit, good acidity, fantastic texture...only problem is that the btl is empty.

March 7, 2021 - This bottle has definitely come into its own. For context, this held its own next to a very nice Gevrey-Chambertin 1er. Definitely OR, but loads of old world character. On the nose: urfa biber (earthy and soft heat), brambly red fruit. Starting to show soft signs of secondary with a hint of funky leather a soft touch of stems. On the palate: fantastic acidity, soft stems, so juicy and great density. Very soft, attenuated tannin on the tannin. No rush to drink, as this has shown it has the stuffing to age gracefully, but thus is starting to leave the primary phase.

February 25, 2020 - Been a while since my last bottle, and this is downright gorgeous now. Nose shows soft earth, asian spice, a touch of softly smoked wood, wild strawberry, a touch of cola. On the palate, earthy strawberry, woodsmoke, excellent acidity and density. Some gripping, but softly grained tannin on the finish. This has absolutely blossomed and I would call this a serious wine at this point. Early maturity, but no hurry either. Drink by 2024 seems about right.
