May 14, 2018 - This was a nice surpise for a wine! Great QPR - The nose was nicely structured with dark fruits, currant, cherry, maybe some plum, with vanilla and caramel in between. On the palate we got a nice medium body wine that finished without being a huge pucker. Reasonable acidity. There are hints of vanilla, and some spice. Up front we get more of the dark fruits, currant, plum and some oak also.
Its not overly sweet, rather decently balanced. It benefited from a little aeration, or standing for about 15-20 min.
My palate says drink now, its in its prime. -

February 20, 2015 - The wine is clear and bright with a deep ruby colour.
The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of black fruit (black currants, dark cherries, dark plums), oak (vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, clove), pungent spices (liquorice) and hints of bottle ageing (truffles).
The wine is off-dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has medium(+) fine-grained tannins and a high warm alcohol. It has a full body and pronounced intensity flavours of black fruit (black currants, dark cherries, dark plums), oak (vanilla, toffee, cinnamon, clove), pungent spices (liquorice) and hints of bottle ageing (truffles). The finish is long.
It is a very good quality wine. It has a lingering finish and very concentrated flavours. It also shows complexity provided by the oaky and spicy notes, and hints of tertiary aromas. On the other hand the slight sweetness, in addition to its ripe and concentrated fruit, would need more acidity to be balanced.
Can drink now, but it has enough tannic structure and fruit concentration to develop a bit more of complexity in the next 2-3 years.1 person found this helpful Comment
