September 25, 2022 - This was a solid aged bordeaux with earth, nuts, coffee and well-worn leather woven with complexity. Light tobacco and lozenge mint waft through in the background. This is certainly in the later part of its life, as the fruits were starting to fade.

This bottle in particular seemed a bit over the hill. Nevertheless, it was still a pleasure to drink. I'd want to try my luck on another bottle of this in the future.

September 17, 2022 - Decanted two hours. Probably not long enough. Got sense it was opening up toward end of drinking. Some dark fruit and tobacco. Quite nice. If drinking now would decant at least three hours

May 8, 2022 - Pretty good but fruit not as strong as it would be in a perfect year.

April 4, 2022 - It had elegant minerality and complexity, but still super young and greeny. Please hold it.

Rockss and Fruit

(Haut-Brion) This had a classic nose right out of the gates. Fresh tobacco, weedy earth, raspberry, cassis, kirsch and cigar box. Sweeter on the palate than the previous wine with more weight but a wonderfully delicate balance. After a while the oak was going back and forth on the nose but it still had that wonderful balance and weightlessness in the mouth that is one of the trademarks of Haut-Brion. Young but great.
