May 1, 2021 - way too advanced - winebid purchase - tasted 25 years old

December 21, 2020 - This came out of the bottle swinging. Big aromatics of blood orange and cardamom, accented by sagebrush, mossy forest, black cherry skin, and a touch of cola. Tannins smooth out with an hour of opening. Showing signs that it’s starting to develop, with some leather and dried cherry on the palate adding to the nose, but I wouldn’t rush to open this.

May 22, 2017 - This wine is really showing now. Despite being 100% whole cluster you get beautiful balance of fruit, tannins, herbs and terroir. Drinking wonderfully here. The tannins in particular are what I love, slight cherry cola (which I normally dislike) but it's so subtle and back stopped by such nice tannic structure and layers of lithe fruit that the cherry cola is actually a it refreshing as a nuance that links the late palate to the finish. Not exactly a great QPR, but not bad.

December 21, 2016 - Tasty tart red cherries, spice, and earth with a hint of stems on the nose and palate with refreshing acidity and moderate finish.

September 14, 2014 - Very savory and robust. Nose full of sage and moss, turning more leathery as it breathes. Big burst of sour cherry up front, more sage, and lingering tartness. Mouthfeel's slightly heavy relative to the norm for coastal California pinot, but this doesn't feel overripe at all. Definitely a more masculine expression.
