March 29, 2024 - 3 hour decant. No detailed notes. Style was relatively dry and quite structured for a port, but we liked it, Dropped an incredible amount of sediment - almost like a crusted port.

    March 11, 2023 - (Blind tasting)
Still youthful and dark fruit nose. Blueberry, raspberry and subtle spice. Perfumed and flowery. Very elegant.
Still youthful. Will last for decades. But so elegant, balanced, smooth and silky. Dark fruit, spice and herbs. Not fiery at all. Lovely. Very good grip.
Can be enjoyed now for the elegance and fruit, but will be even better in 10-20 years.

June 4, 2022 - A Fond Farewell (Sammamish, Washington): Dark amber in color. This wine has a funky nose almost like tar or asphalt, which I have experienced in this wine before. While there are some herbal and red fruit notes underneath, there must just be something with the aromatics for this wine. Thankfully, everything else about this wine was very enjoyable. The palate has just a hint of that funkiness, but the palate also shows some beautiful nice red fruit, red currant, and raspberry. Very long finish.

February 16, 2018 - This is truly a remarkable wine. Third day it has been open. On the first day, it was virtually unapproachable. If you are going to drink, this needs a full day decant. On the third day, it is so incredibly dense and concentrated. It oozes class. It's gobs of dark fruit with a touch of mocha, cocoa powder and spice. I cannot emphasize how rich this and youthful this still shows on the 3rd day of being open. You can basically chew it. Showing an absolute glacial aging curve. Still very primary and hedonistic but the undertones are there for secondary development. With only a total purchase of four bottles, I will let the other 3 sit for at least 10 years. At least. This is going to still be fresh and enjoyable 25-30 years down the road and will outlive us all. Remarkable.

December 23, 2017 - Despite a 12 hour decant still very tight. My opinion is that this wine needs a lot more time in the cellar. Nothing wrong here just way too young.
