September 7, 2016 - The '12 Vacqueyras from Couroulu has a super sexy perfume of smoke, ripe cherry, seaweed, and spices such as cinnamon and cardamon. Label says 13.5% which seemed surprisingly low for a Vacqueyras but after half a bottle that feels about right. The palate is smooth, well balanced, and pleasant with no heat and a fairly long finish. I like this juice. All the components are in place here and I wouldn't expect it to improve much though it may develope a little something tertiary around 2020. I say drink the '12 Couroulu Vacqueyras by 2022.

March 11, 2016 - Aerated with a Vinturi. Nose of blackberry, anise, mocha, white pepper and spice. Rich, ripe black and red fruit core, anise, chocolate, spice and fine tannins on the palate. Medium to long finish. Medium to full bodied. Paired with tomatoes, red peppers, mushrooms and pasta.

January 28, 2016 - Popped and poured. Aromas of blackberry, raspberry, chocolate and spice. Raspberry, blackberry chocolate and fine tannins on the palate. Leads to a medium to long, soft finish. Good balance. Medium to full bodied. Nice wine.

October 10, 2015 - Last night I opened this and was badly disappointed -- very tart. Mouth-puckering tart. I couldn't handle it so I put a cork in it and decided (with little confidence) to try it again tonight. The air did the trick. Still not a great wine, but very smooth, with a dark cherry cola thing going on. Still a bit more acid than I'd like but went well with a rotisserie chicken.
