November 13, 2017 - Very acidic at first but opened up very nicely. After 2 hrs, it was a titally different wine. Deep purple color. Smooth like silk. Although still tannic. I nelieve this wone will only get better in the next few yrs

April 22, 2017 - Opaque purple color turning violet at the rim with a reflective edge. The nose gives off shoe cabinet, rubber, black fruit, leather, and smoke. The palate is densely concentrated on a full body with a velvety texture. Blackberry, black tea, dark chocolates, spice and toasted vanilla. This has considerably mellowed down since my tasting of two years ago, which I found to be unctiously unapproachable. This has integrated quite well, and I'm happy to upgrade my rating. Finishes long and mentholated with finely-grained tannins. Drink now with a 45-minute decant or from 2020 until 2035.

May 8, 2016 - Pricing on this one is all over the place. CT says avg 52 bucks per bottle, with a $64 "MSRP." This one was on "clearance" for 32 bucks. I think this one should be around 40-45, because if I had paid "MSRP" for this wine I think I would have been horribly disappointed. But it is a GOOD SuperTuscan wine that is 25 Sangio, 40 Cab, with the balance being Syrah. This bottle was a little better than I remember it being last time. Front was a great combination of black cherry, blackberry. The wine was fairly dense - medium bodied wine. Compared to the last bottle that was darker expression, this one seemed to be a little more fruit expressive with less fig and more berry, leather, and some oak. Still not very dry at the finish. Enjoyed with beef fajita and brisket chile rellenos and went perfect. Didn't really take much time to open or express itself. So I think this one is in a really good place right now.

November 1, 2015 - So Ok, this wine is getting 90's right now because people just don't let it sit long enough, or are trying to enjoy this like a "knife and fork" wine (I don't know for sure -- most of the tastings don't really say anything about it). This one was acquired as a "blowout" at a local grocery store. I know exactly when they got it, and it was during winter of 2014/15. So it's been sitting at 70-72 for a year. Uncorked with notes of rosemary and raspberry. Poured a medium red/purple into the glass. Swirled with notes of raspberry and earth. The entry was soft, medium bodied wine with a raspberry core, "funeral flower" floral, not overly done, and a little dark. I think I noticed a little green pepper here. The middle is where this one bottoms out -- dark fig and a hint of black licorice starts to penetrate. Finishes excellently with black foresty characteristics, dirty raspberry, tannic but not overly so. This wine is not going to age for longer than 10 years more than likely, but it has AT LEAST ten years from date of vintage, I'll give it 12 with proper cellaring. This will likely appreciate in the next 1-2 years, which is why I'm going back tomorrow to get more! Very enjoyable wine, but this is NOT a wine that you can enjoy without food. Strangely enough I think this would go well with French food (but went well with lasagna ;)
