May 6, 2023 - Huge napa cab. I like it but really need to be in the mood for a wine this large. Fruit, tannins, alcohol, aroma all tend toward overpowering the palate. Fruit is pure though, nothing out of balance. Ripe plum fruits, cassis, dark licorice. Drank over 4 nights. Paired best with a grilled pinwheel flank steak.

In the right occasion, especially at a tasting, I could see this wine showing well against others.

May 28, 2022 - 7 years since my last bottle. About a 40min decant. Fruit and flavor held up and consistent with prior bottle. Tannins were present but the edges were rounded now. Body and finish were lesser than expected. Perhaps that’s indicative of the vintage. Glad to have waited as patience was worth it but I’d like to try this from a stronger vintage.

December 12, 2020 - Really nice cab here that is about the right quality for the price (at the time $140 retail). Perfect steakhouse wine.

November 16, 2020 - Fairly sedate dark berry fruit--blackberry, current. Some slate. Some tobacco that is common for me to find in CS. Some menthol, A retro-nasal olive sensation under the rear palate. Still serious tannin. I guess that should not be a big surprise. This wine is not that old.

March 17, 2018 - Needed 45-60 minutes decanting but exactly what you expect from RL.
