March 20, 2024 - Tannins now resolved. Rather meaty, savory style, mouthfeel good but more at the back than the front. Good integration, subtle impression. Would have been good with roasted meat. A word that comes to mind is overcast. A couple more years for the remaining bottle no problem.

May 26, 2021 - Burgundy wine swap on Vesak Day. Tasted blind. Drank in Grassl Cru.
Appearance is clear, medium intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fresh violets, toast smoke, spicy ripe stems, meat, iron blood and minerals with air. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), chewy medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of savoury meat, smoke, spicy stems, mildly rustic earth, boysenberries, black cherries, blood iron minerality lingering towards the long finish.
Good quality. I was guessing a medium aged Gevrey with stems influence. Ahh turns out to be Fixin 1er hence the meatiness and hint of rusticity. Still quite a lot of freshness. Meant for further ageing.

July 3, 2017 - This needs a lot more time IMO than the Jancis Robinson person's review. Lots of promise. Leave for quite a few years. I have 2 more bottles. Will leave for 8 years+.

Why you'd recommend drinking between 2016 and 2020 for a traditional style 2012 is beyond me.

September 30, 2015 - Corked-- chemical smell and lack of fruit.

January 28, 2014 - Savoury nose, violets, dark fruit. Spicy, good character of fruit on the palate, firm, acidic, quite rich. Long, persistent and tart finish. Good potential. 89-90+
