  June 22, 2016 - Good solid zin from a great vineyard. Thought we would go,pare this to Monte Rosso. Not quite ready yet but good.

  March 12, 2016 - Rich purple color. Pretty aromatics, black cherries, deep plums, raspberry jam, jammy blueberries, but not heavy, it maintains elegance and lots of roses, baking spices, vanilla and dark chocolate chips. Full-bodied with velvety tannins, a chewy but smooth presence on the palate, some moderate acid. Rich and jammy blackberries, plums, blackberries – the fruit is pure and juicy, but baked together with clove, cinnamon, vanilla, bittersweet chocolate, roasted chestnut, hazelnut. A full, chewy wine with lots of power but even at 15.2% alcohol, I find this wine very enjoyable and velvety. Has guts to age but fun tasting it in its powerful youth.

  December 23, 2015 - Not decanted, 1 small pour consumed over ~45 minutes. Big, brambly berry fruit, some warmth from the 15.2% alcohol, but not over-ripe and with enough acid and (slightly rough) tannin structure to maintain balance.
