Deux Chevaux Does not like this wine:
January 14, 2020 - 4.5 years later: decent acidity to be sure, but overall we found this, our last bottle, to be dull and quite unfriendly over four nights, after which we gave up. Tant pis.

October 31, 2018 - This is a remarkable wine, which almost knocked me out when I went in for a sniff - saline and oxidative notes abound on the nose and leap out of the glass. On the palate, when your tongue finally recovers from the hit of acid there’s a fascinating panoply of flavors: wool and filberts, parsnips, chestnuts, bruised sour apples, turkey gravy, porcini mushroom, and finally, more roasted nuts with salt and vinegar.
The acid is teeth-chattering and almost ripped my lips off. It’s crazy long and tangy and goes on forever after you swallow, heading more and more towards nutty oxidized caramel as it goes on. I expect to be still tasting this when I wake up in the morning. Love. -

March 25, 2018 - Our first En Banode, this a field blend of chardonnay and savagnin (and maybe some other heritage grapes) from one specific plot rather than a selection from varietal harvest. While I admit the likelihood that I would really have to taste Montbourgeau's various cuvees together to distinguish them, i also admit that i like them all. This wine seemed to have a relatively large proportion of savagnin, totally fresh and significantly oxidative, savory and saline, vinous rather than fruity. Excellent with crab cakes.

October 21, 2016 - I'm just a sucker for the wines of Jura. They're all oddball wines, to be embraced for their idiosyncracies and loved for their food-friendliness. This oxidized wine pairs easily--think of the versatility of fino and you're there. This versatility makes it one of the few wines that bridges both cheese and charcuterie at the same time.

June 26, 2015 - Medium yellow. Nicely balanced, good acidity as one would expect. Clear oxidative notes. Overall, the impression is a bit dumb or muted, however -- lacking brightness. Still, quite pleasant over four nights, refrigerated but neither pumped nor gassed in between.
