Community Tasting Notes 9

April 11, 2021 - Certainly more open than it was five years ago. Soft and comparatively generous, though still dominated by iron and earth rather than fruit. Tannins are still a force. This might have been better with a steak than our roast chicken.

May 24, 2020 - Served blind, I was torn between Pinot and Cru Beaujolais as there was this persistent bubblegum quality that would keep making itself known on the nose. That said, with about 90 minutes of air in decanter, this was complex, with a fun, engaging nose full of red and blue fruits, soil, and forest notes. Medium-bodied, with ample, fresh acidity, and a finish that's still nicely framed by its fine, sweet tannins. Some youthfully juicy fruit still at the core of this which puts it firmly in its preferred window for my palate; shows no signs of tiring. Very fun, tasty. recommended+

May 12, 2019 - Drank over 3 nights. Best on night 2, fell apart on night 3.

Clear red color. Forest floor, cranberry, tart cherry on nose (very tight on night 1). Medium body, medium(-) tannins and high acidity with a long finish. Cherry, cherry pit and cranberry flavor profile. 91+/-

Needs time for secondary characteristics to show.

February 10, 2018 - Fantastic wine. Drinking beautifully right now.

May 20, 2016 - It became a little more open and secondary after three hours in the decanter, but really didn't give up all that much. Not sure if just needs more time or not.
