Community Tasting Notes 8

May 26, 2017 - Medium yellow color. The melon infused nose melded well with hints of hay and herbal notes. The palate followed the nose with hints of sugar cookie and occasional notes of mineral and lanolin. There was ample acidity to pair with our cobb salad. Well done, Robin.

November 29, 2015 - Light yellow color. The nose and the palate are packed with peach, pear, and grass notes. There is a touch of sweetness in the midpalate, which reminds me of Merry Edwards' version but sweeter. This is light-bodied with balanced acidity. Overall, it was quite good with a unique flavor profile.

February 6, 2015 - Very flowery—honeysuckle—nose. In fact, I might add “honey” to that olfactory description. Quite fruit-filled on the tongue. Lots of tropical fruit—pineapple, banana—and, again, honey or caramel. Acid on the back end keeps this from being a fruit bomb.

December 6, 2014 - 14.6%. 137 cases. Light yellow center with a watery rim. The nose is pure and unmanipulated with upfront grassy notes but spring water and stones later. Initially, the palate gives an impression of sweet hay and grass while peach, apricot, lime, and minerals lurk underneath. The acidity is lower than some examples, but this light-bodied wine does not appear flabby. The finish has good length and ends with a peachy/mineral combination. Overall, Robin has created a wine that shares some similarity to Merry Edwards' version, but it has its own unique personality that pulls riesling and sauvignon blanc together to create something beautiful.
