October 30, 2019 - Lush and bold. Notes of bramble, twigs and dates. The wine has high tannins that puckers your mouth quite a bit. Long finish. Think it may be past its prime, but still a very good wine.

April 9, 2016 - Decant, decant, decant. Cork dried - needed to be pushed in and strained but left to open over 45 minutes - absolutely wonderful. Balanced tannins and fruit with slight spice and very little earth. Perfect time to consume

February 3, 2012 - the nose jumps out of the glass with earth and cherry, with a touch of espresso and a very faint hint of pepper. the palate is fairly simple with cherry and some black tea on the finish. silky as smooth at this point. not much room to improve, drink away.

September 12, 2011 - double decanted for 4 hours, lots of sediment. the nose was nice and soft with some earth and cherry and a touch of leather. palate had flavors of cherry with a nice hint of espresso, leather and earth. the palate was still opening as we finished the bottle. the acid is strong and provides a nice finish. tannins are soft but holding on. more complex than the lewis syrah of the same vintage i drank the night before, and seems softer.

August 10, 2010 - Rather disappointed. Good nose but very stiff even the next day. Nothing really stood out as very good much less outstanding. Maybe better when young.
