June 6, 2022 - The best wine from 2011 that I have had to date! 2011 was a difficult year. Really great winemakers can turn out amazing wines in off years. Melka is a one of those incredible winemakers!
This wine shocked me, given the notes from my prior bottle. I did not envision this wine becoming that much better. 90 minute decant and a two hour luxurious drinking experience. The fruit, spice, and wood notes were harmoniously integrated with prominent, but not harsh tannins. I will save my last bottle for 2-5 years to see if there is any more room for growth. -

October 12, 2020 - Fascinating wine. Dark cherry and burnt orange on the front end. Cedar, violet, and rose water with tannins riding out a good 30-60 second taste profile. This was with a two hour decant and two hour drinking window. Will open the next bottle in 1-2 years to see how it evolves.
