January 16, 2020 - Three years later, so I guess I'll note it again. Medium ruby to garnet with transparency. Aromas of cherry, plum, earth, some barnyard funk, cedar, violet, anise, and dried spice drawer. Medium body, acid, and finish, with flavors of black cherry, plum, orange peel, and spice. Solid inexpensive CdR. 87-88

April 23, 2018 - Way better at 6 years than this wine showed at 3 years old. Impressive straight out of the just opened bottle and got even better every day retasted. Integrated, rounded, richly fruity, silky textured, mouth wateringly delicious, and even decently concentrated. A great ambassador for the Janasse wines, that makes you want to experience the more expensive wines, when their inexpensive introductory wine is so good.

August 23, 2017 - Full-bodied with dark berry flavors and good balance. Will still cellar well and complement a charbroiled rib eye, rack of spare ribs or a fully loaded cheeseburger.

July 6, 2017 - I always enjoy this wine, year after year. This one, however, scores a bit lower. Not quite as mouth-filling or as interesting. 87-88 pts.
