February 19, 2016 - Tasted Feb 2016. Well decanted, 2 hours plus. Room temp.

Bright ruby. Good condition with a bit of pale fade on the rim.

Nose is all tar and 'baccy', heaps of coffee. Plus good berry fruit. Some wood.

Taste is huge alc, warming, tons of sweet fruit that goes for ages, incredible length, leads to dry(ish) finish. Coffee again, wood, fine soft floury tannins, no grip, light-solid medium body, I am drinking it too soon, I feel, it has power enough to cellar until around 2020 min. I'd say this will devel' into even more complex wine, maybe nice stinky barnyard characters. It is rich and velvet smooth.

Tasted next day after a little wine left in decanter overnight: huge coffee and fruit and baccy on the nose, woody; sweet long fruit in the mouth leads to dry finish. Still powerful. Class.

VFM? At approx £23.00 a bottle it ain't cheap, but class costs! It is excellent value for money. Would buy again any day. Will look for more, consulting Spectator vintage/harvest reports.

January 6, 2014 - Great finish to a meal. A great stand alone wine. Decanted for about an hour. Had a little barnyard but mellowed out as I drank.

December 9, 2011 - This is a very nice Amarone! I will be looking for more. Drank it with my wife, son, and daughter-in-law at an Italian restaurant and it paired well with everything. I had it with a roasted eggplant and fresh pasta dish and a grilled artichoke appetizer. Excellent stuff!

December 25, 2009 - L'un des bons vins goûtés dernièrement. Un beau cadeau offert, un futur achat assuré. Excellent!

November 28, 2009 - Still one of the best amarone. I've tasted some allegrini, masi, fabiano, Nicolis.. Twice to 3 times the price...
