March 9, 2024 - Drinking great now. Open and approachable. Nice aroma, dark fruit and a hint of menthol. Moving into the warm balsamic tones. Tannins have resolved. Fruit is silky, acid is firm. Good body and length. Vinous explains that Arborina can sometimes generate tense, nervous wines. Characteristics not easy to identify in a wine I'd say. But I can see how the acid in this Bovio may point to that. Very enjoyable nonetheless, just have it with food. That's usually how it is with Italian wines anyway.

January 8, 2022 - D2h. Mature garnet red, yellow tinged, 4.5. Wonderful mature bouquet, dried roses, dark fruit, some tar, tobacco, all the classic stuff. Harmonious palate, medium tannin, high- tannin, medium body, long elegant dry finish. Drink now-2030

February 1, 2020 - Wonderful Barolo. 2008 is drinking pretty well now (Jan 2020). Still needs a decant, but it is quite round and opulent - sustained length and good concentration.
