February 1, 2016 - Tightly wound at the moment and not giving up much. The wine is on the mineral driven, honeyed citrus, spice and orange marmalade side of the style range, with a honeyed, lemon fresh and vanilla finish. This will probably develop well, especially for tasters looking to pair sweet wines with savory and spicy dishes.

January 31, 2016 - What the 2013 red wine missed, the Sauternes licked up from the floor. I don't think that I had one 2013 Sauternes that I did not like. This always is, and once again was one of my favorites with Sudiuraut coming in second and Fargues in first place. Though, this can be number one on its own. Very complex and already showing elegance and some funk in a light bodied and rounded style. Very fresh, vibrant, succulent and long with incredible acidity! This will be a head bender in 7 years + but really nice right now, before it potentially goes into hibernation. drink or HOLD

January 30, 2016 - Union Des Grands Crus de Bordeaux San Francisco. Nose of honey, orange peel, mango, and lemon/lime mix, more of the same on the palate, delicious, decant for 30 minutes and serve anytime the next ten years, medium/big body, should peak in 2 years, long, long, silky, honey flavor finish. Retail $50. That is $20 less than the Suduiraut and $140 less than the De Fargues. Tasted four times and Welcome to Sauternes.

January 30, 2016 - 2013 UGC Bordeaux Tasting (Bently Reserve, San Francisco CA): Honeyed, aromatic, orange blossom; palate is rich, very sweet, acidity is medium to medium-plus, but the fruit isn't particularly deep or complex right now; medium finish. Good. 88-90+

January 27, 2016 - UGC Bordeaux (Drake Hotel - Chicago IL): Tasting, brief note. I'm almost always a fan of this wine, enjoying its floral character, and 2013 was no exception. Good spice, floral start with apricot, candied nuts and maple syrup. Good length, very good 92-93 point potential.

January 27, 2016 - UGC 2016 (Chicago, IL): This was probably my Sauternes of the tasting -- intensely elegant with lots of citrus peel character, tons of acidity to balance to super rich sweetness and massive amounts of candied tart fruits.

March 17, 2014 - The wine shows a nice acidity (Lime). The wine is fine and complex. It is not viscous. The finish is long. (Flavours of "Fraise tagada" ;) )
