April 27, 2024 - Similar to prior notes after a 2 hour double decant; outstanding, drink or hold, no rush

April 12, 2024 - Still pleasurable to drink but I found this bottle quite a bit long in the tooth. Maybe reaching end of its lifecycle.

December 23, 2023 - Cracked open a bottle of the 2013 Tempest for a holiday get together with friends. It was later in the dinner, but folks were still sober enough to appreciate the rich, voluptuous depth of this wine all the way through from nose to finish. There were a lot of sighs and mmm's as folks were enjoying their glasses. Dark raspberry on the nose and palate. Black cherry comes on midway through and a bit of balsamic on the back end. Silky....tannins so well integrated. Drinking very well. A hit all the way around.

August 24, 2023 - 45 minute decant and back in bottle for 2 hours before pouring. Beautiful, lush, killer juice.

June 16, 2023 - This was an interesting one. Picked up a few '13s at Realm's recent library release, the others I've had have all been excellent. There was some residue up the sides of the cork on opening and the wine had a bit of a musty smell, more like an '03 wine, not a '13. Similar musty aged aromas in the glass and the fruits were a bit constrained. Wondering if this wine was a bit off I plugged it up and opened again next night. Pulled the cork and the wine was perfect with all the Tempest opulence: dark cherry, chocolate, licorice, long finish, excellent.
