Community Tasting Notes 7

September 28, 2017 - Restrained fruit. Black tarry fruit, blackberries and hint of vanilla though no obvious oak. Great balance between vibrant acidity, smooth but structured tannins, nuances of spice, black jam, moderate length of finish.

October 25, 2016 - Very traditional style northern rhone syrah. Iron, plum. Really needs food.

March 8, 2016 - Nose of light spices, oak, and fresh dark cherries, with a mouth that has a bit of meatiness in it, but that is overwhelmed and defined by the taste of wild (Shimeji/Maitake) mushrooms. A straightforward, light-to-medium bodied wine with smooth tannins. Very drinkable, and a good value (if mushroom soup is your thing). Drink soon after opening.

September 20, 2015 - This got a great PQR review from the Wine Advocate so I'm sure that's why this was shipped to me blind through the Everything Wine club.

Dark ruby in Colour. Nose is great with ripe, dark cherries, raspberry, white pepper and mushroom. But it's the taste that falls off quickly for me. Dark, meaty red fruit and a tart finish.
