  August 31, 2018 - Bottled 20 March 2017, so more than 18 years on oak, 19% ABV. The intensity is certainly impressive, but straight from the bottle the wine is rather monolithic, with salty oak, but otherwise not a lot of expression. It takes a few days in the decanter to soften and reveal Bual-like notes of peach and orange, and a sweet, nutty richness. Solid performance, but lack the expression and precision of one of the classical varieties. On the other hand: what’s to complain about for € 20 a bottle?

  January 15, 2015 - I hardly ever drink madeira, but if this example is anything to go by, I ought to up my consumption several times over. Sweet, but still fresh and quite mesmerizing. Lovley!

  Developing, oxidized nose with a medium aroma intensity. Aromas of caramelized sugar, orange peel, overripe red apples, cinnamon, almond paste, yellow raisins and milk chocolate. Lovely sniff but nothing too exciting.
  
  Sweet on the palate with a medium+ acidity and body. The flavor intensity is medium+. Flavors of yellow raisins, overripe apples, caramel and oranges. A medium+ finish with lots of red apples peel, oranges and flowers.
  
  Easy, smooth, balanced maybe a bit generic but Madeira is so goddamn tasty. I drank this one over two weeks and it performed just as good the last day as the first.
