March 17, 2024 - Intens nese av brennesle, grønne druer, gummi og stein. Tett konsentrasjon og intens syrlighet, tydelig preget av Riesling-karakteristika. Den er smal og fokusert på ganen. Etter å ha fått mer tid i karaffel, fremstår den enda renere, mer harmonisk og luftig. Frukten beveger seg fra det grønne spekteret mot det mer elegante hvite, og minner dermed mer om tidligere opplevelser med Morstein fra Wittmann slik jeg husker den i andre årganger. Ingen hastverk med denne.
March 2, 2024 - Kräftiges Gelb. Gereifte Riesling-Nase, etwas Petrol, dahinter exotische Früchte, Passionsfrucht, Ananas, Kamillenblüten, Grüntee, kreidige Mineralik, wirkt ruhig gesetzt, keinesfalls kitschig. Im Gaumen, straff, auf den Punk gereift, top Säuregerüst, gefühlt knochentrocken, mit einem langen, mineralischen Abgang. Sehr schöner Wein, auf dem Peak, mit Reserven für sicher 10+ Jahre. 93 vvPunkte
September 30, 2023 - Honning og sylta sitrus på duft. Mineralitet og friskhet også. I munnen går alle disse opp i en høyere, fantastisk enhet. Deilig harmoni av fyldig frukt, som også har et litt søtere element (nektarin?) og frisk syre. Lang ettersmak med deilig snev av rheinhessen-bitterhet. Fantastisk nå.

January 9, 2023 - Very detailed and expressive on the nose - notes of ripe yellow stone fruit, exotic fruit, herbs, crushed stones. On the palate searing acidity, generous fruit, lots of minerality. Super long and vibrant finish. In a great spot right now, but no rush at all. 96-98
October 31, 2022 - Quite mature. Golden colour. Leesy kerosine hints, rich and quite ripe. Lacked interest or intensity. Enjoyable but forgettable.
And then I retried it after two hours in the fridge… wow. Depth and punch had built up. Delicious and demanding. A classic case of pop and pour error and rushing to judgement! Loved it when the wine gods piss on me.
September 11, 2022 - Late Birthday BYO: Blind. Motsetningen til 14, balnsert og neste rik, uten å være tropisk, impoenerende vin, og meget behagelig. Hvem skulle tro at en 13 ble slik?
February 21, 2022 - Decanted about half an hour. Still light in colour. On the nose there's baked grape fruit, fresh pineapple and a tone of honey. In the mouth, the acid is a tad too dominant. With the right kind of food, that's not really a problem, but on its own it sticks out a bit. The fruit and sinewy structure is really excellent, and there's nothing to deduct on the length. With room temperature it is more harmonious and still elegant, and the acidity is not so noticeable. Excellent wine, but not outstanding.

January 3, 2022 - Notes on Wines from December 2021 (Wellington, NZ): Served double blind. The terpene kero on the nose and palate suggested the Riesling was older than eight years. There was also some preserved and confected fruit (like “crystalised Gummy Bears”, someone said). The impression of plenty of sugar on palate (I guessed ~ 7 – 8 gl/rs) – yet with a green streak down the middle of it. Seemingly tottering on the margin between ripe and overripe. Vibrant acidity to match. Overall, a top Großes Gewächs that will cellar but is ready to go now.
