Community Tasting Notes 3

July 7, 2020 - Vinegar blow when opening with an obvious risk of volatility. However, when airing you get notes of cherries, wet earth, apple juice, mint and even memories of lead. Beautiful complexity. On the palate it retains some body and an outstanding acidity. It is delicious at the aftertaste and maintains a decent length. It is undoubtedly one of the best mature red bottles in Galicia that has had the opportunity to drink. Merens' "invisible hand" in full action ... By the way the dill used for the salmon loin that matched it, unfortunately still does not appear in rioja wines.

June 11, 2019 - In the right place after eight years. Perfect cork. Aromas of milky chocolate, boiled vegetables and burned peat. Nice complexity. On the palate presents a watery texture, tamed acidity and a decent length with a delicious aftertaste. Astringent, volatile, excesively acid no more. Surely reds from Ribeiro, the older the better. Get them a try. Next year, last bottle.

En su sitio después de ocho años. Corcho perfecto. Aromas a chocolate con leche, verduras hervidas y turba quemada. Buena complejidad.

September 8, 2018 - Purchased from Merens winery. Soaked cork after laying down this bottle (number 1844) during eight years in my cellar. That's affecting on the smell of this wine with a humid sensation that doesn't leave all the way. A pity for that defective nose.
On the palate a rounded acidity, little fruit, watery texture and a medium length are the highlights here.
Time to run and to be lucky. Starting this 4Q popping a few bottles of Ribeiro DC (1st).
