April 21, 2020 - I agree with the syrup/confection notes on open and, for me, throughout the first night. I kept just over half the bottle hoping that it would improve with some air and time. It did! I skipped night 2 but night 3 was much better than night 1, and night 4 to finish it off was maybe the best. The oak/vanilla/syrup really needed that air to integrate the tannins and acid, so with time in the air this turned out to be great. Just needs patience!

January 30, 2016 - Aromas of sweet blackberry, black cherry, baking spice and dark chocolate. Full bodied, intense wine with fine tannins and lively acidity.

August 8, 2015 - Upon opening - Sweet dark fruit, candied orange zest, and cherry liquore with some carmel and oak in support. It is very full and opulant with sweet tannins and a strong finish that fades in weight but lingers otherwise. Primary, but good none the less.

Day two - The nose gained a little expressiveness but became more one dimentional. The palette became fuller with a little heat. Different from day 1, but not any better or worse. I think this wine needs some time and it shall have it.
