November 12, 2021 - Dark crimson in color. 13.8% ABV. Super nose of ripe red fruits, licorice and flowers. Medium body with mouth watering acidity. Lush, rich and fruit forward. Slightly more opulent than more recent vintages. Black cherry, leather, tobacco and pepper on the palate. Nice length on the finish. Well aged Zinfandel from mountain fruit that shines in a challenging vintage. Best over the next 1-2 years.

June 2, 2015 - I bought this wine because it was a California Zin with just 13.5% alcohol. I was intrigued. This wine is off the beaten Cali Zinfandel track; blackcurrant on the nose but with an evergreen/pine aroma and some tar. Nice black berry flavors and a brighter than typical acidity. Lighter bodied than most. Scores strongly for originality but there is some disjointedness there as well.
