March 24, 2023 - Clear, medium ruby fading to a clear rim.

Powerful and woody bouquet with cedar, crushed stone, pencil lead and brambly black fruit.

This is a lighter, retro style Bordeaux. Fine tannins, bright acid. Warm alcohol.

Hollow Flavours of chocolate, espresso and alcohol.

Lacking depth and complexity and nearing its end of life. Drink now.

March 21, 2023 - Drank with guests for a dinner party, so no formal note. This showed well and wine-curious, but not geeky, friends really enjoyed it. Nose was down-the-middle mature claret with the usual range of "gentleman's study" leather/tobacco as well as a good slug of earthy/mushroomy character. Bit of fruit but not a ton, more about the tertiary development. On the palate tannins were present but receding and quite fine; acidity was mid+; some fruit remaining with lots of tertiary character incl. some good soy-sauce tones. Cool and lean in character as an earlier note on here aptly put it, with a good degree of freshness remaining. Lovely wine.

December 13, 2022 - Needs a lot of time breathing. Still has some strength but should drink now. Tannins are on the mild side short after taste. In the 90 range

Bra lengde. Helt klart min beste flaske av denne vinen. 90/91 p.

January 5, 2022 - From glass. Nose: mature, roasty cigars - but also anticipating astringency and freshness. Palate: cool and lean, a nice glass of mature claret. I could very much enjoy having a glass of this every night if I had a few cases in my cellar, but if I were to purchase it now, with age, as a single (special) bottle, it'd be pretty underwhelming.
