December 6, 2021 - This ripe Pinot has succumbed to the trajectory that fans of domestic Pinot (like me) fear: pleasant, unexciting, and definitely not worth the wait. Some wines develop; others age - and this is the latter. I loved several of the 2013 Wayfarer wines when I tasted them recently, but maybe this inaugural vintage was harder to figure over the long-term.
Garnet in color; medium in body; aromas of blueberry, dried oregano, and anise. Flavors of raspberry, mulberry, and sour cherry, with a pulsing but straightforward finish. 14.5% alcohol. This wine lost definition at about the two-hour mark, so decanting is not the trick. 91 at the moment, but I'd drink soon.1 person found this helpful Comment -
