December 16, 2021 - Seven years later, I'm right there with Bill00. This bottle had some decent fruit, cherry and plum, with a very light layering of earth/moss. There just wasn't a lot of there there. For the producer and the (current) price point, this was fairly lacking in energy, structure, filigree, pretty much anything to latch onto and get into. Interestingly, the wine was slightly better on Day 2, though not more tertiary or earthy as one would expect, the fruit was just a bit fuller. Maybe it doesn't have to be a "drink up," the wine seems pretty much identical in 2021 to how it was in 2014 and it held well over 24 hours. That said, it still strikes me that there isn't much upside here. It's hard to imagine this wine developing in any interesting ways, the primary material just isn't there.

    Opened for Madrid-Atleti.

December 16, 2014 - Earthy with dried cherry and plum. Very nice, mellow fully mature Volnay. Doesn't feel like there's much to be gained from holding any longer - drink up.

August 14, 2013 - My note on a previous bottle mentioned violets and strawberry.
This bottle seemed over the hill and oxidised.

    August 7, 2013 - Perfumed..raspberry
    Initially a very delicate nose
after less than half an hour the wine had changed completely, with much more earthy undertones...An hour later, violets.
Abrupt finish but in pretty good condition for its age

March 29, 2013 - Bright, clear and sharp. Ultimately -- acidic, unyielding, thin even. I am not really a fan of the 1995 vintage in the Cotes de Beaune, I think.
