Community Tasting Notes 6

August 6, 2014 - Let this go a little too long - brick colored, stewed meat on the nose, palate was light on the sour cherries. Not off, just old.

February 14, 2009 - Great wine. Good balance between tannins and fruit. Went well with a grilled entrecote.

January 4, 2009 - Decanted for about an hour. Very smooth, drinking much better than when first purchased.

    January 12, 2008 - Alcohol: 14.5%
    Cork Type: Natural
Nose/Bouquet: Smoky Dark Chocolate and Black Cherry
Flavor/Palate: Smooth Plum and Black Cherries
Finish: soft generous long lasting tannins and hints of chocolate and lime.
    Color: Deep Garnet
    Chill Factor: 60 F
    Decanter/Breathing time: 60 minutes
Potential: Could Cellar until 2011, but can drink right away. I believe we caught this wine at the beginning of its peak.
Food: Good before, during and after dinner. We drank it with a Beef Dinner.
Overall Opinion: A full bodied fruity Syrah-Blend wine. 70% Syrah, 10% each of Grenache, Carignane and Mourvedre. We would buy this vintage if it is still available.
