Community Tasting Notes 9

February 13, 2023 - In the bouquet red and dark berries, vanilla, sweet spices and well dosed oak. Same on the palate, bell pepper and a firm amount of acidity. The vintage is the problem here in the otherwise really good wine. Possibly with some more ageing the wine will be a bit more friendly. 86 – 87 for tonight.

January 31, 2021 - Mid red. Restrained but classical nose. “Claret-like”. Red berries, some green or undergrowth like notes, a touch of spice. Pretty good definition. Even with air the tannins actually emerge quite firmly. Nice drinking now for lovers of balanced, traditional Bordeaux while better or more souped up versions sleep in the cellar, but equally this should keep for at least a while more.

May 9, 2019 - Restricted nose of red berries and sour cherries. This wine is on the thin side with some green notes which disappear with time. With air this wine is getting more approachable but still stays light weighted and unbalanced. An average wine from an average vintage.

May 25, 2016 - Tasting Bordeaux 13-12-11-10 in Hong Kong (Visiting Vinexpo 2016, I finally tasted Bordeaux 2013s from bottle, plus earlier vintages): This comes across as fairly hollow on the mid palate. I really do not see any interest in buying this wine in 2013.

February 7, 2016 - From a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, the wine is forward, medium bodied, finishes with a crisp, spicy, red berry notes, coupled with a kiss of oak.
