January 28, 2017 - Enjoyable. Continues to be at its peak - vintner said it should peak until 2017. Bouquet balanced and pleasant, cherry, pear, vanilla, and leather. Taste moderately complex and balanced, sweet, long finish - cherry, leather, spices, sweet but not too much. Moderately chewy texture. Very good to drink by itself, and went best with cheddar cheese, smoked cheddar, onion cheese, and various salamis. Good value at $18. Would buy again.

April 17, 2015 - Event - Celebration - B-day (Seaport Village downtown San Diego, CA): Average, nothing notable. May be beyond its peak since this tasting is not as good as 1 year ago - even though vintner said it should peak between now and 2017. Bouquet minimal with cherry, peach. Taste somewhat simple (has lost some previous complexity), sweet, tangy long finish. At $22 a bottle, seemed slightly overpriced - even though price is lower than 2 years ago. $10 for flight of 6 wines. Tasted at San Pasqual tasting room in scenic Seaport Village - San Diego.

April 19, 2014 - Event - Celebration - B-day (La Mesa, CA (near San Diego)): At its peak - vintner said it should peak between now and 2017. Bouquet strong but pleasant, cherry and leather. Taste moderately complex and balanced, sweet, long finish - cherry, leather, spices, sweet but not too much. Moderately chewy texture. Very good to drink by itself, and went best with cheddar cheese (other cheeses not so good with were gouda, havarti, swiss). At $25 a bottle, seemed slightly overpriced - bought a bottle at $18 due to $5 discount with tasting, which seemed more reasonable.
