Community Tasting Notes 5

July 17, 2023 - Pronounced nose intensity with notes of black fruits, cassis, vanilla, toast, spices. Medium+ acidity and medium+ tannin. Long finish. Full bodied. Already entering its drinking window. Will improve with aging.

January 30, 2018 - IMW Bordeaux Tasting - 2013 Vintage (Hyatt, San Francisco): Aromatic. Some spiced Brett and some Merlot fruit (chocolate-covered blackcurrant) with dark cedar. Astringent and bitter on the palate with tannins, alcohol, and acid all elevated.

July 6, 2014 - Very fresh and forward nose of ripe, sweet dark fruit, coffee and chocolate. More red fruit on the palate. Pure and silky. Not very deep, but fine tannin and great balance.

April 25, 2014 - On the palate, the wine showcases rose, plum, cherry, dark chocolate and truffle with a hint of espresso bean and silky, fresh, clean red berries. This is a good expression of L’Evangile with a lot of density for the vintage, but the wine ends with just a touch of dryness in otherwise fresh finish. From a blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc, the wine reached 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.6. The yields were 27 hectoliters per hectare, and the Grand Vin was made from 60% of the harvest. The wine will be aged in 100% new French oak. 90-92 Pts
