January 27, 2019 - WX+ 'X9 Blind Cabernet Sauvignon Meetup (My House - Hanover Park, IL): Really fun opening this. Most of the guys weren't familiar with the wine but some of them blind said it smelled like SQN - quite the compliment and they had no idea the connection.
Really exotic aromas of blood orange, blood covered cherries, smoke and some dark red and purple flowers.
The palate is really showing nicely and still has lots of body. Long finish that was funky and had the cult qualities I do actually find in SQN. Very nice and from this "maligned" vintage I'd say go out and find some more of the best producers - even in 2011 they put out good juice.

September 25, 2018 - From the inaugural vintage. Decanted for 4 hours and consumed over 4 more. This one is still early in it's drinkable window. Red fruits. Good tannin structure. Reasonable levels of pepper and spice. Drink over the next 10 years

May 5, 2017 - Hammell Wine Alliance Tasting at Hospice du Rhône (Blackberry Farm): deep ruby, 1st vintage, 50% Grenache/25% Syrah/25% Mourvèdre, Syrah and Mourvèdre co-fermented and Grenache fermented alone, black pepper, licorice, leather, sandy soils, low yields

March 17, 2017 - This is much better than the last bottle, but that just goes to show you they get better with a little age. Rich strawberry, raspberry, asian cooking spices, extremely good balance and nice length. Medium acidity and body, silky smooth, a little dirt and salt mixed in. This is quite good now and for a '11 it blows away most competition.

February 18, 2017 - Beautiful wine. 2012 and 2013 (have had one of each) are both superior however this is one of my absolute favorite projects and wines. Decanted and drank over 1.5 hours. Beautifully balanced albeit a little thin. Drink up. 93-94
