  August 29, 2015 - Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Rich nose of black cherries, black pepper, plums, a bit of vanilla. Full-bodied on the palate, with black-fruit flavors leading. Texture is not quite firm. Finishes with coffee notes, slight grip, and near-zero tannins. Pleasant, rich, more like a Syrah than a Cab. Not bad for the price, quite extracted for a 2011.

  January 9, 2015 - The dinner hosts may not know crap about wine but they know what points mean on shelf talkers. They busted out this bottle full of black fruit, currants, conifer, and delicate doses of toast and spice. Rich, fruit forward, approachable tannins, a lush Paso fruit middle, and a moderate finish.
